Everyday is worth celebrating our Black Heritage and Ancestors. We are grateful that we get to celebrate more than once a year. Why? Because, the Afrodiaspora within the US and Canada observe Black History Month in February while the UK and countries like Trinidad and Tobago celebrate it in October.

Meet Queen Nanny of the Windward Maroons of Jamaic Meet Queen Nanny of the Windward Maroons of Jamaica. She was of Ghanaian Ashanti descent and later settled in Jamaica when sold into slavery. Also known as Granny Nanny, she was an outstanding military leader who fought against the colonial rule.
